Dr. Gayner Answers Your Questions
WHAT SHOULD I LOOK FOR IN A RHINOPLASTY SURGEON?
When it comes to choosing a surgeon to perform your nose surgery, take your time and carefully consider his or her:
HOW LONG AFTER NOSE SURGERY CAN YOU EXERCISE?
I typically have my rhinoplasty patients hold off on any exercise that may raise their heart rate or blood pressure for 2 weeks to minimize swelling and avoid causing bleeding. Most patients can resume vigorous exercise such as jogging, biking, and weightlifting after approximately a month, but this timeframe depends on what was done during surgery and individual healing rates.
What Our Patients Are Saying
"I had a wonderful experience at Stratis Gayner and would recommend them to anyone. I loved that the staff was friendly and made me feel comfortable in an awkward situation. I called several times with questions and never felt like I was bothering anyone. And best of all, I have an excellent result that is very natural. Thanks a bunch."

WILL PEOPLE KNOW I HAD A NOSE JOB?
Not if it’s performed properly. I strive to achieve rhinoplasty results that look natural and provide harmony among your facial features. You want people to notice your eyes and smile instead of being immediately drawn to an out-of-balance nose.
CAN YOU GET A NOSE JOB IF YOU’RE UNDER 18?
It’s important to wait until you’ve finished growing before making changes to your nose; therefore, the minimum age differs between girls and boys, as well as from person to person. Most of my younger patients are in their mid-teens.
I’M IN MY LATE 50S. AM I TOO OLD FOR A NOSE JOB?
There is no upper age limit for rhinoplasty as long as you are healthy and have realistic expectations. While you may have always been unhappy with the way your nose looks, your concerns might have changed over the years. For many people, the tip of the nose gradually droops as part of the aging process. As an experienced rhinoplasty surgeon, I can elevate the tip without causing new concerns. Many patients older than 50 combine rhinoplasty with a facelift or eyelid surgery for an even more rejuvenated look.
CAN MY NOSE BE FIXED YEARS AFTER AN INJURY?
Yes, but it will likely be a complex procedure. Because your injury probably impacted both the appearance and function of your nose, this procedure requires an experienced surgeon who understands the intricacies of the delicate inner structures of the nose. In addition to correcting nose injuries for many patients, I regularly perform revisions to other surgeons’ rhinoplasty results.
