Blepharoplasty, also called eyelid surgery, is a facial plastic surgery procedure that involves removing excess skin and fat from the eyelids to correct drooping lids and under-eye bags. Aging of the Eye Area
As we age, eyelid skin stretches and muscles weaken, leading to sagging eyebrows, drooping upper eyelids, and puffiness under the eyes. In some cases, this can also impair peripheral vision.
The Procedure
Depending on whether you are having upper eyelids, lower eyelids, or both treated, the procedure may be performed either in our in office procedure room or in the operating room (OR) within our building.
If you are also concerned about dark circles, fine lines, wrinkles around the eyes, and sagging eyebrows, you may want to consider other procedures performed by Dr. Gayner such as BOTOX® Cosmetic, dermal fillers, or laser skin rejuvenation.

Recovery and Results
A certain degree of swelling and bruising after surgery is normal. Patients experience minimal, if any, pain. When recovery from eyelid surgery is complete, eyes will appear younger and more alert, skin will be smoother, and vision may be improved.
