Our Lumenis Stellar M22 laser delivers pulses of laser energy along the vessel. The laser energy will cause the blood to thicken and destroy the vessels. The vessels will be absorbed by your body and will no longer be visible. During the procedure, you may feel a slight burning sensation but only when the laser is being used.
You may need more than one Pennsylvania vein treatment for maximum results, depending on the size of the vein. You may also want to make an appointment for another laser treatment such as laser skin rejuvenation or laser tattoo removal.
A week after treatment, you may see some bruising around the treatment area. For a few weeks after that, you may see a slight brown pigment if larger veins were treated. During the recovery period, Dr. Gayner may recommend that you avoid hot baths or strenuous exercise and may encourage you to wear compression stockings. Within 2 to 6 weeks, you should see legs free of those unsightly red and blue veins.
