A VOLUMA™ XC procedure is similar to other dermal filler treatments. Dr. Gayner first numbs the area with ice or a topical anesthetic if you wish. He then injects the gel into your cheeks. Most patients report minimal discomfort during the injections, and treatment usually takes less than 30 minutes.
The results of a JUVÉDERM® VOLUMA™ XC treatment are visible instantly. Most patients are able to return to their normal activities immediately, although some bruising, redness, bleeding, or swelling at the injection site may be present for 2 to 4 weeks. In most cases, one treatment is all that’s required to achieve optimal results, although some find that a second touch-up treatment more effectively meets their needs.
