JUVÉDERM® VOLUMA™ XC
JUVÉDERM® VOLUMA™ XC is the first injectable dermal filler to be FDA-approved to address age-related loss of volume in the cheeks. Injectable fillers have been popular for years with men and women seeking facelift alternatives without surgery. Pennsylvania surgeon Dr. Scott Gayner was selected by Allergan, the manufacturer of JUVÉDERM® VOLUMA™ XC, to be among the first doctors in the state to offer the product. Previously, reducing the appearance of wrinkles was the primary way to achieve a younger-looking face without surgery. Today, physicians can also effectively treat loss of volume, another major component of facial aging.
Face-focused Dr. Scott Gayner is a board-certified facial plastic surgeon and has special education and training in the aesthetics of the skin and structures of the face.
Advantages of JUVEDERM® VOLUMA™ XC
JUVÉDERM® VOLUMA™ XC uses the power of hyaluronic acid to add volume to all 3 regions of the cheek, leaving a result that’s balanced and natural looking. Hyaluronic acid is a substance that occurs naturally in our skin. It diminishes as we grow older, which contributes to the appearance of facial aging. By using hyaluronic acid as its active ingredient, VOLUMA™ XC offers brings new benefits to the world of facial fillers. Pennsylvania patients of Dr. Gayner can enjoy these advantages, including:

A VOLUMA™ XC procedure is similar to other dermal filler treatments. Dr. Gayner first numbs the area with ice or a topical anesthetic if you wish. He then injects the gel into your cheeks. Most patients report minimal discomfort during the injections, and treatment usually takes less than 30 minutes.
Recovery and Results
The results of a JUVÉDERM® VOLUMA™ XC treatment are visible instantly. Most patients are able to return to their normal activities immediately, although some bruising, redness, bleeding, or swelling at the injection site may be present for 2 to 4 weeks. In most cases, one treatment is all that’s required to achieve optimal results, although some find that a second touch-up treatment more effectively meets their needs.
