It's not just women who are bothered by overly large breasts. In men, the condition is called gynecomastia, and it affects more people than you might expect. Male breast reduction in Pennsylvania can be accomplished using excision methods (surgical removal) or liposuction. Dr. Stratis will work with you to determine which method - or both - would work best for you. If gynecomastia is caused by excess fat, then liposuction may be a good choice. If, however, there is significant excess skin and glandular tissue, excision may be the only way to accomplish optimal results. Excision will also be necessary if the areola is enlarged. This is 47 year old male with bilateral gynecomastia. Patient was treated with excision of extra skin and liposuction. Dr. Stratis, a board certified plastic surgeon, used a special technique at the inframammary fold to release the skin and tissue. This allows the breast to drape appropriately.
