After two years at St. George's, he transferred to the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine and graduated with an MD degree in 1982. Dr. Stratis completed a general surgery residency at the Medical College of Pennsylvania and a two-year residency in plastic and reconstructive surgery at the Milton S. Hershey Medical Center until 1989.

Dr. Stratis is on active full time staff at the Holy Spirit Hospital and the Carlisle Regional Medical Center where he was the former Chief of Surgery. He is also on active staff of the West Shore Surgery Center. He has been in private practice as a plastic surgeon in Central Pennsylvania since 1989.
